IFS Therapy in Kennesaw, GA

A path back to yourself.

What Is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based approach to psychotherapy built on the idea that the mind is made up of distinct “parts,” each carrying its own emotions, memories, and protective strategies. Instead of treating anxiety, anger, or numbness as problems to eliminate, IFS helps you build an understanding relationship with each part so old burdens can be recognized, heard, and gently released. Angela D. Andrews combines IFS with somatic awareness and pastoral counseling to help clients work through trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationship patterns that talk therapy alone has not resolved.

What an IFS Session Looks Like

Sessions are conversational and paced to your comfort. Rather than being coached toward a technique, you are invited to notice a feeling or reaction in the moment and get curious about the part behind it, where it came from, and what it has been trying to protect you from. Over time, this process helps parts that carry fear, shame, or old pain trust that you can lead from a calmer, more grounded place, so cycles like people-pleasing, shutdown, or reactivity begin to loosen on their own.
